This whole house remodel is designed to maximize the existing qualities of the home, conserve natural resources, and improve its overall performance. Rather than tearing down and rebuilding, David Ewing chose to preserve the existing structure and create more space by building up. The wood flooring, window moldings and chimney were all restored and some of the latest in earth-friendly building materials were used.

To make the home more energy efficient, insulation was upgraded throughout the home and new high-efficiency vinyl windows were installed. To promote healthier indoor air, the home includes features like tile surfaces and hardwood flooring, and a central vac system was installed with venting to the outside to avoid accumulation of harmful particulants indoors.
