This class will review the policy and regulations pertaining to utilizing a mobile dwelling on residential properties in Portland, Oregon.

Overview

Length: 1 Hour

This course provides information Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) which are small footprint dwellings (typically 800 sq ft or less) and are inherently resource and energy use efficient compared with standard single family construction. Additionally, the course includes green/energy efficient ADU development strategies and emphasizes the positive health, safety and welfare aspects of ADUs, including the benefits of multi-generational housing, social interaction between multiple units on one property, housing security (rental/income flexibility), diversity/affordability of rental options, urban density and livable neighborhoods/walkability, voluntary simplicity, reduced environmental impact, among others.
