You bring strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to lead multi-faceted residential building research projects from inception to completion. You are well-versed in building science and can apply your project management skills and technical awareness to collaboratively investigate research topics in the field of high-performance construction, energy efficiency technologies, and climate-friendly design approaches.
Role Description
The Residential Innovations Manager will oversee and execute research projects focused on climate-friendly residential building technologies and design approaches. The Residential Innovations Manager will manage contracts, coordinate with key funding and implementation partners, develop written reports, support the implementation of field research, and ensure the successful overall delivery of project goals. Specifically, the Residential Innovations Manager will provide:
- Project Leadership: Plan, execute, and oversee research initiatives aligned with organizational objectives.
- Contract Administration: Manage agreements with subcontractors, consultants, and partners, ensuring compliance with scope, timelines, and budgets.
- Team Coordination: Collaborate with internal staff and external stakeholders to align resources, expertise, and deliverables across projects.
- Project Budget Oversight: Track project budgets, manage expenses, and prepare financial summaries for reporting and decision-making.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit progress reports, presentations, and final deliverables, ensuring a high-quality and timely submissions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with project partners, community organizations, and other key stakeholders.
- Process Improvement: Support the development and refinement of project management tools, workflows, and documentation to improve efficiency and outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in project management, including contract administration and budget oversight.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing reports and presentations.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience with technically oriented project research, ideally in building science or energy efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in a related field (e.g., project management, environmental science, engineering, business administration, or building science)
- Knowledge of sustainable construction practices, building codes, or decarbonization strategies.
- Professional credentialing related to sustainable buildings such as LEED AP, RESNET, HERS, BPI, etc.
- Project management certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP).
- Familiarity with grant-funded projects.
